1 Bibliographic reference Use 'monograph', 'serial', 'article in monograph' or 'article in serial'.
2 Digital archive Use a term from the Format list.
3 Excavation archive Use 'graphic material', 'document', 'object' etc. as appropriate.
4 Scheduling record Use 'data'.
5 Artifact Use 'object'.
6 Photograph Use 'graphic material'.
7 Map Use 'cartographic material'.
8 Chart Use 'cartographic material'.
9 article in serial A written work, being one of several found in a serial.
10 article in monograph A written work, being one of several found in a monograph.
11 microform Use a term from the Format list.
12 cartographic material Maps or charts.
13 graphic material Pictorial, painted or drawn material such as slides, drawings, photos, plans excluding cartographic.
14 index An alphabetically or numerically arranged list of persons, subjects etc. appearing in a work.
15 machine readable data file Use a term from the Format list.
16 sound recording A recording of voice music or other sounds.
17 verbal communication Factual information conveyed orally to a recipient and subsequently transcribed by them.
18 monograph A complete written work including books and anthologies.
19 projected and video material Moving images made available through projection, video or other methods.
20 serial A written work issued at regular intervals and numbered consecutively.
21 Unpublished document Use 'document'.
22 data Measurements or factual information which may occur in a manual catalogue system or a database.
23 document Unpublished written work such as manuscripts, dissertations etc. not disseminated to the public.
24 object 3-D physical entity conveying information e.g. a model, artefact or architectural feature.
